Volunteer with SGA
Sustainable Gardening Australia is committed to inspiring, empowering and connecting individuals, communities and organisations to garden sustainably and our volunteers are vital part of that work.
Volunteers play a crucial role in helping SGA grow and many areas of our organisation could not exist without them. Volunteer’s roles include events and festivals to promote the SGA message, admin support, data entry, research, community and relationship building, and more. We welcome all skills and backgrounds; you don’t need to be a horticultural person, just someone with an enthusiasm for what SGA does and some time to support that. Your creativity and commitment are all we need.

What to get involved, but don’t live in Melbourne?
Consider writing something for the SGA website, or sending us some photos.
Whether it’s a snap of your favorite or interesting plant, a story on your vegie patch, what your local community garden is doing, and more, we would love to hear about it. Photos and stories of local gardens and species would be especially welcome as we love to share information and inspiration from all over Australia. You don’t need to have any specific skills or knowledge, just share what you’re passionate about in your patch or your community. Click here to find out how to submit a story or share your photos with us.
Expressions Of Interest
If you are still interested in joining the SGA team, but none of the roles listed above appeal to you, you can complete the following Expression of Interest form. We can then keep you up to date with Volunteer news and opportunities.
