Join Penny Woodward, author and horticultural editor of the ABC’s Organic Gardener Magazine, for a master class all about herbs.

Easy to grow and abundantly useful, herbs deserve a place in all gardens, large and small. In this class, Penny will explain how to grow a variety of herbs in your garden and discuss their culinary and medicinal uses. Herbs covered will include much-loved favourites as well as some lesser-known gems.

Penny is the author of 8 books on edible and useful plants, and the horticultural editor of the ABC’s Organic Gardener Magazine. Several of Penny’s books, articles and photographs have won awards, including an International Publishers Award and the Book Laurel from the Horticultural Media Association Australia for the best gardening book in the last two years, for her most recent book. Some of Penny’s best-selling books are Herbs for Australian GardensGrow Your Own Herbal RemediesGarlic, An organic guide to growing and using garlicPest Repellent Plants and Asian Herbs and Vegetables.

Penny is also a regular panellist on the 3CR gardening program, the Patron of the Herb Society of Victoria, a life member of the Australian Garlic Industry Association and a garlic judge at the Australian Food Awards.
