Workshop Description

In our built up urban environment balconies and small / courtyard gardens can play an important role in providing habitat for wildlife.

Small spaces tend to be more intense with wind, rain and sunshine so understanding your microclimates is important to the success of your garden in providing plants for local species. This session will discuss microclimates and how to work with them or go about changing them. Attracting the smaller wildlife species like birds, pollinating insects, micro bats and Iizards is possible,  if you provide additional habitat elements in your balcony / courtyard garden including flowers (food), water and shelter.
