About Our Community Webinars and Workshops

SGA’s webinars and workshops are designed to inspire and are rich in practical suggestions for people to use in their own gardens. SGA offers a number of workshop formats that are flexible enough to meet your needs. We offer both online and face-to-face formats with the shorter 45-minute sessions great for lunch time or library programs and the longer 90-minute sessions allowing for a deeper dive into our sustainable gardening topics. All our workshops come with speaker notes.

  • Webinars: 45 – 90 minutes

SGA can offer full service online workshops / webinars for your community. Hosted on Zoom, these Webinars reach a larger audience than traditional face-to-face workshops as they require no travel and are often more convenient for people to attend. Recordings can also be made available for a limited time for people that couldn’t attend or for participants to re-watch

SGA can be engaged by any organisation to run an SGA Community Webinar or Workshop. This can include Local Councils running workshops for residents, libraries, community gardens, retirement villages, corporates or any other organisation.

  • Face-to-Face Workshops: 60 – 90 minutes

SGA’s Face to Face workshops bring people together to learn about gardening sustainably. All the topics covered by our Webinar series can be delivered in the face-to-face format although usually to a smaller audience. Face-to-Face workshops are particularly effective in bringing the community together and also for hands-on “doing” activities like plant propagation, seed packet making and soil testing. Please note a per km travel charge will apply for face-to-face workshops.

  • Walk and Talk Workshops – 90 minutes

A community garden or nature reserve is a great venue to inspire people to garden more sustainably. The venue provides the inspiration for discussion, highlighting examples of what can be achieved or changed in the home garden or community space. Topics that can be adopted to this format include Habitat Gardening, Preparing for (season) Harvest and Starting an Organic Garden. Please note a per km travel charge will apply for face-to-face workshops.
