Whether its for health, financial or environmental reasons, turning your backyard into a productive patch is incredibly rewarding, great for the planet and darned tasty! Problem is, a lot of first time food growers aren't sure where to start, what to buy, when to plant it and how to grow it! Luckily, Sustainable Gardening Australia and some of our awesome certified garden centres are here to help!
'Lettuce' introduce you to Yummy Yards, a selection of products and concepts designed to take all the hard work out of setting up and maintaining a productive patch. From courtyard container gardens to super size sleeper beds, there is a Yummy Yard to suit your situation, and your budget!
And it's so simple... all you have to do is select the Yummy Yard kit that suits your situation, head to your nearest stockist, and have them load it into your car! Then take the time to set it up at home, and even that's been made easier, as all kits come with instructions that are so easy to follow that even I can understand them!
So, what sorts of kits are available, and where can you get them? Sustainable Gardening Australia has developed four different Yummy Yards kits to suit varying garden styles, permanency, budgets and preferences. From the super flexible Edge Barrier Kit (Kit One), to the stylish Galvanised Tank kit (Kit Two), the tough as nails Sleeper Kit (Kit Three) and the portable Pot and Container Garden (Kit Four), there is sure to be something to get you going and keep you growing! As for where to get them... click here for a list of participating SGA certified nurseries. Loads of them have display beds where you can have a look at the Yummy Yards on sale, as well as the Yummy Yards recommended produce available for planting RIGHT NOW! You'll be able to find the Yummy Yards sections in the nurseries with no worries, just look for the Yummy Yards posters! So just get into it! We've taken all the hard work out of vegie gardening and all you have to do is dig in and enjoy!
