Dugald Noyes, Head Gardener at Heide Museum of Modern Art, will take us around his restoration project, an area of riparian woodland at the rear of Heide, by the Yarra River.

Inspired by the work begun by the Reid’s in 1967, Dugald has put a considerable amount of time into restoring the area to it’s pre-European settlement state. Dugald will discuss the work being undertaken on this Indigenous Remnant Conservation Zone and it’s current progress.

Dugald continues the work of the Reids and will discuss the importance of this very rare area, conserving indigenous species and creating these small ecosystems. He will outline how using indigenous species in residential areas can contribute to sustainable gardening practices, and help create local habitats.

This GGP Peer Evening will be our last for 2017 so will be a great chance to catch up with other members to say Merry Christmas and discuss the great Peer Evenings we’re planning for 2018.
