Becoming an ECLIPs practitioner is not just a matter of paying a yearly fee… the Certified Practitioners must undergo regular training and audits to ensure they are staying at the top of their game. ECLIPs is a first in Australia and a project that is sure to grow as public concern for the environment increases. At the moment ECLIPs is only available in Victoria.
All due care and attention is given to compiling the SGA online register of Environmentally Certified Landscape Industry Professionals in relation to the observance of sustainability principles by these practitioners.
No assurances are given to members of the public by Sustainable Gardening Australia in respect of the quality of landscaping or horticultural work to be provided by members of the ECLIPS program. Landscaping For Bushfire
A recent publication put together and released by the CFA ‘Landscaping For Bushfire’, talks about how landscaping and maintaining a garden can minimise the effects of direct flame contact and radiant heat on a house during a bushfire. SGA together with the CFA held a 2 night training workshop to explain in depth this publication as well as a practical element.
