SGA PODs Local Sustainable Gardening Groups
Connect with your community and the planet.
SGA POD Gardening Groups are Productive, Organic and Diverse, and aim to connect like minded neighbours together to meet, talk, learn, grow food, and share sustainable tips and tricks for the garden! Most importantly, SGA POD groups unite local people through their common love of gardening, their concern for the health and well-being of the planet and their willingness to involve themselves and their families in the local community.
Inspire others and inspire change
It only takes one person to make a difference, one person to start a movement, and one person to cause change – why not become that person in your community? SGA POD gardening groups are a great way to unite and inspire your neighbours, and make a difference in your suburb. By becoming a member or convenor of an SGA POD, you will invigorate, motivate and excite change in your community.
Share your knowledge, your space and your time
All of us have skills, knowledge and experiences that, once shared, can prove invaluable to others. Who knows what amazing resources lie in your every own backyard, or those of your neighbours? SGA PODs are about sharing ideas, gardening tips and tricks, backyards and a bucket load of enthusiasm with your neighbours, like-minded locals who, like you, want to learn and grow within their community.

A message from SGA CEO Mary Trigger
“The SGA POD project is a fantastic way for people to create local, sustainable gardening systems, to share knowledge and ideas, and to get involved with other like-minded members of their community. Whether people are beginner gardeners, or seasoned gardening gurus, the SGA POD Gardening Groups allow individuals to connect and learn from each other, while doing their bit for the planet, their back pockets and their communities. I would urge gardeners with all levels of experience to get into, or start, a POD… it’s all about growing food and having fun, and who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?”
