If your plants have powdery blooms, sooty moulds or shot holes on the leaves or in fruit, then they may a garden disease. Growing plants in the appropriate spot, with the right soil pH, water, light and soil preparation can prevent many of these diseases. But if you have an outbreak, make sure you have correctly identified the problem (check out our website, or ask at your local SGA Certified Garden Centre).  Once you know what you’re up against, you know what you need to do to treat the problem.

SGA are big fans of non-chemical pest control and prevention, such as monitoring your garden for early outbreaks, ensuring good air circulation between plants and alternative home remedies such as garlic sprays. If you choose to use a chemical, select one of the Low Environmental Impact products from the SGA Green UP product guide below – your garden, and the planet will thank you for it.
